Folder Restrictions
In the Properties window of repositories and folders, allowed file types and the maximum file size for a document can be restricted. This feature ensures that only documents meeting the specified criteria can be uploaded in the repository and folder.
Restriction Setup Steps:
-
Accessing the Properties Window:
- Right-click on the repository or folder and select Properties from the context menu.
-
Defining Allowed File Types:
- In the Allowed File Types field, the file types that can be uploaded to the repository or folder are defined. This is done by selecting the desired file types from the expanded list.
- For example, if only
.pdf
and.docx
files are allowed, these types should be selected. - If no file types are selected, no restriction is applied to file types.
-
Defining Maximum File Size:
- In the Maximum File Size field, the maximum allowable size for files to be uploaded is specified.
- A size value is entered, and units such as B, KB, MB, or GB can be selected.
- For example, if the maximum size is set to 10 MB, files larger than 10 MB will not be able to be uploaded to the repository or folder.
-
Saving Changes:
- After all adjustments have been made, click the Save button to complete the process.
- The changes will apply to future uploads. Files uploaded before the restriction was set will not be affected by the changes.
Related Notes:
- The specified restrictions can be applied to subfolders as well. However, the restrictions in subfolders can be managed independently.
- Users without permission to change the maximum file size and allowed file types cannot make adjustments to these settings.
